Troubleshoot Perplexity and Notion Export Errors

Perplexity Connection Errors

Not on a Perplexity exportable page

The popup requires the active tab to match:

/search/{id}
/computer/tasks/{id}

Open a specific item rather than the Perplexity home page.

Extension not connected to Perplexity page

The content script did not answer.

1. Refresh the Perplexity tab.
2. Wait for the page to finish loading.
3. Reopen the popup or click Retry Connection in Batch Export.
4. Confirm the tab uses https://www.perplexity.ai.

Message timeout

Content-script requests time out after 20 seconds. Refresh Perplexity and retry with one small test item before a full batch.

Notion Errors

Notion access token not found

Re-authorize Notion and select the target database again.

No databases found

• Share the database with the integration.
• Click refresh beside Target Database.
• Re-authorize with access to the correct workspace/page.

Database/property validation error

The database needs compatible properties:

• title — Title
• URL — URL
• Chat Time — Date
• Space Name — Rich text when Spaces are used
• Tags — Multi-select when Computer Tasks are used

Use the provided template or correct the property name/type.

Could not add Space Name or Tags

The integration may not have permission to change the database schema. Add the property manually or grant edit permission.

Rate limit or temporary Notion API error

• Wait before retrying.
• Export a smaller selection.
• Avoid the two-minute Auto-Sync test interval.
• Review Export Failures for the Notion status/code.

Duplicate and Cache Problems

Overwrite or Always insert new still skips the item

Skip exported records stopped the local Perplexity ID before the Notion URL rule ran.

1. Expand Sync Configuration.
2. Disable Skip exported records, or use Clear Exported Records Cache.
3. Retry with the desired URL-based mode.

Clear Exported Records Cache did not delete Notion pages

This is expected. The action clears only local exported IDs. It never deletes Notion content.

Batch and Quota Problems

Only five items were exported

The Free batch allowance is five successful items per day. Premium removes the limit.

Save All stopped midway

• Check for cancellation.
• Check the free daily allowance.
• Review the current error message.
• Review Export Failures.
• Confirm both Batch Export and Perplexity stayed open.

Embedded Document Problems

The extension creates child pages only for DOC_FILE assets that include source content. A download-only asset without readable source content is not converted into a child page.

If a document link is temporary, the child page can contain the extracted content without retaining an expiring source URL.

When contacting [email protected], include:

• Extension version
• Error text
• Data source mode
• Whether the item was a search, Space conversation, or computer task
• A screenshot with emails, workspace names, database names, URLs, and private content masked
